A Thank You Note From Fr. Jim

September 26, 2010

Dear Friends in Christ,

There are no words that can describe how grateful I am to all of you for your overwhelming outpouring of love and support at my farewell on September 8th. It was an amazing night and one that I will not forget for a long time to come.  My mother, and the members of my family, are still talking about the entire evening.

I am grateful to all those who worked so hard to make the night so special for
me. I truly felt your wonderful and generous love that has supported me over the years while I was your pastor. It will take me some time to write thank you notes to all of you individually but please know how grateful I am for all of
your support and affirmation.

Over the last two weeks I have been adjusting to life in a new parish. The people of Holy Name have welcomed me with open arms, and for that I am so
grateful. I know that as you all work with Msgr. Bracken in the weeks and months ahead your parish will continue to grow in love and service of the Lord Jesus.

Please know that I will always feel part of this great parish family. I will hold St. Mary Star of the Sea and St. Gertrude Parish in my heart forever. I hope that you will come and visit me at Holy Name sometime in the future. We have 5 weekend Masses here (4 in English and 1 in Spanish.) You are always welcome.

Please know that all of you will be remembered in my prayers and Masses this week during the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Germany. Thank you again for your support, friendship and love. I will always be grateful.

With Love in Christ,
Father Jim Cunningham
Holy Name of Jesus Parish
